• Medical Records Coordinator - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Register Nurse (RN) Wanted at CarDon
• The Medical Records Coordinator (LPN / RN) at CarDon and Associates plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate resident medical records to support high-quality healthcare delivery. This position ensures that all medical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. The Medical Records Coordinator will collaborate closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to facilitate efficient patient care and billing processes. By effectively organizing and transcribing medical information, the role contributes to seamless communication within the healthcare team and enhances resident outcomes. Ultimately, this position is essential for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of medical records, which are foundational to clinical decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update patient medical records with precise and timely documentation.
• Transcribe medical reports and correspondence accurately from healthcare providers.
• Coordinate with medical secretaries and administrative staff to ensure smooth office operations.
• Assist in processing medical insurance claims by verifying documentation and liaising with insurance companies.
• Operate office equipment such as copy machines to reproduce medical records and related documents as needed.
• Make informed decisions regarding the handling and confidentiality of sensitive resident information.
• Support compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies related to medical records management.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in the state of Indiana.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification in the state of Indiana.
• Proven experience in medical records management or a related healthcare administrative role.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
• Proficiency in using office equipment including copy machines and transcription tools.
• Experience working in a medical secretary capacity or healthcare administrative support.
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Demonstrated decision-making skills in a clinical or administrative healthcare setting.
