• Medical Assistant: $34.62–$38.46/hour ($72,000–$80,000/year)
• California LVN: $38.46–$43.27/hour ($80,000–$90,000/year)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM; no evenings, weekends or on-call
• Location: San Francisco, CA 94105 — onsite employee health clinic
• Commuter Access: Convenient downtown location accessible by BART, Caltrain connections, ferry service, Muni and Transbay buses
• Employment: Full-time, W-2, non-exempt

• We are hiring an experienced Medical Assistant or California LVN to serve as the consistent onsite Operations Lead for a downtown San Francisco employee health clinic. This is not a desk-only management job. You will continue providing hands-on care while keeping the clinic organized, prepared and moving smoothly.
• On any given day, you might draw blood, administer a vaccine, coordinate a referral, help arrange PRN coverage or solve a supply issue before it affects patient care. You will be the primary onsite operational contact, with support from clinical and operational leadership when issues require escalation.
• This is one opening with two possible qualification routes. You do not need both MA and LVN qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Own daily clinic readiness, patient flow and recurring onsite operational processes.
• Coordinate PRN coverage, schedule changes and onsite onboarding for PRN staff and new hires.
• Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs and maintain accurate intake and EHR documentation.
• Perform blood draws, specimen-related services, vaccines, injections, EKGs and point-of-care testing within your training, competency and professional scope.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, follow-up records, patient communications and routine front-desk needs.
• Keep examination rooms, supplies, inventory and equipment ready, including monitoring expirations, restocking and coordinating orders, vendors or service needs.
• Support team meetings, action tracking, established workflows, operational records and patient-engagement activities.
• Communicate safety, staffing, workflow or compliance concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical or operational leader.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant: Completion of education or training that meets applicable California requirements, with demonstrated competency for assigned duties; or
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: An active, unrestricted California LVN license.
• Strong, current phlebotomy and specimen-handling skills.
• Recent vaccine administration experience.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, EKGs, point-of-care testing and routine outpatient clinical support.
• Strong organization, reliability and confidence working independently onsite.
• Accurate documentation and professional, patient-centered communication.
• Comfort using an EHR and standard office technology.
• Reliable availability for the full onsite schedule in San Francisco.
• At least three years of recent outpatient, primary care, occupational health, employee health or comparable ambulatory experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous lead, coordinator, training, site-operations or workflow-improvement experience is helpful. A formal lead title is not required.
• Experience coordinating referrals, scheduling, patient follow-up, supplies or clinic workflows is preferred.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or another recognized Medical Assistant credential is welcomed for MA-route applicants.
• Scope note: Medical Assistants perform assigned clinical services within their documented training, written authorization and required supervision. LVNs work within their California license and applicable clinical direction. The Operations Lead coordinates clinic workflow but does not independently make medical decisions or direct the clinical judgment of licensed providers.
