• The Paralegal assists attorneys and legal professionals by preparing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents and records. Under the supervision of in-house counsel, this role supports third-party subpoena response, litigation activities, corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and legal research efforts. The Paralegal works cross-functionally with business teams to gather information, coordinate legal processes, and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision and direction of in-house counsel, the Paralegal will:
• Investigate facts, review documents, and prepare responses to subpoenas, warrants, summons, levies, liens, bankruptcies, garnishments, letters from counsel, statutory records requests, and other third-party requests, escalating complex matters as needed.
• Provide paralegal support for a high volume of pre-suit, litigation and arbitration matters, including by administering legal holds, coordinating discovery efforts, organizing case files, and opening/closing matters across multiple trackers and platforms.
• Coordinate responses to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and other federal and state agencies; Leverage templates to prepare draft employment documents for review by counsel.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research and prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations for attorneys and business stakeholders.
• Assist with compliance initiatives, audits, investigations, and risk mitigation activities.
• Support corporate governance (including entity management) and due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic business initiatives.
• Track legal department metrics, reporting, budgets, invoices, and outside counsel spend as assigned.
• Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, legal AI tools) to drive efficiency and build templates and workflows.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including some administrative support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience supporting an in-house legal department or law firm.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
• Certified Paralegal (CP) designation or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience supporting technology, software, SaaS, real estate, or corporate legal environments.
• Experience with a variety of litigation, including single plaintiff suits and class actions, commercial disputes, regulatory matters and employment matters.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation support, contract administration, and corporate governance practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft professional legal correspondence and documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive legal materials.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling legal and business matters.
• Proficiency in legal research methodologies and interpretation of legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with attorneys, business leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, legal software (e.g., Legal Tracker, Westlaw and LexisNexis), and document management systems.
