Job description

• As an R&D Operations Planner, you will ensure alignment between material availability, production schedules, and delivery requirements.
• You will be a key contributor to the success of the material management, production planning, and scheduling execution, driving operational efficiency and ensuring that production commitments are met. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will help optimize inventory levels, synchronize schedules, and deliver results that support CMC development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the planning process to align production plans and inventory strategies with demand forecasts.
• Tracks status of material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available as needed.
• Prepares reports on works in progress.
• Coordinates material requirements to ensure approved material ordering is timed to efficiently to meet production requirements.
• Develop and manage inventory control processes.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials planning, inventory management, and schedule performance.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on schedule adherence, material availability, and operational performance.
• Develop detailed production schedules and capacity plans for the CMC COE, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal downtime.
• Own and maintain the production schedule, ensuring alignment with demand, production capacity, and material availability.
• Adjust production schedules as necessary to address changes in demand, supply constraints, or unforeseen disruptions.
• Review incoming Work Orders to ensure they are complete and supportable and project delivery dates.
• Schedules and expedites the movement of parts to prioritize critical work and meet delivery dates.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to balance workload and resolve scheduling conflicts to meet on-time delivery goals.
• Drive improvements in scheduling accuracy and responsiveness through the implementation of digital tools or advanced planning software.
• Review and maintain master production schedule (MPS).
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of materials planning and scheduling.
• Leverage lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize production flows and reduce waste.
• Champion the use of data analytics and forecasting tools to improve decision-making and drive process enhancements.
• Support Industry 4.0 Projects the advance planning and scheduling capability and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in materials planning, production scheduling, and/or aerospace manufacturing operations or 3+ years of experience with an Advanced degree.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, particularly in materials planning and scheduling for advanced manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

• The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
