• Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Sales Support Estimator to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technology and evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the Account Executive, as the key technical advisor. Responsibilities

• What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
• Design and document moderately complex installed solutions based on project requirements, plans, functional specifications, site conditions, and customer needs.
• Perform detailed review of project plans, specifications, and site conditions to determine overall project requirements, identify gaps or risks, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare accurate project estimates and quotes using approved estimating tools, and support customer requests for information, including RFIs and RFPs.
• Collaborate with Sales Professionals to understand customer requirements, develop cost-effective solutions, and clearly communicate the value of Convergint products and services.
• Coordinate with colleagues, vendors, consultants, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) throughout the estimating and design process to ensure technical and project requirements are addressed.
• Provide input, review, and coordination for shop drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical documentation to confirm completeness, device and equipment locations, wiring requirements, and alignment with project plans, specifications, schedule, and customer expectations.
• Work with vendors to register project opportunities, secure competitive pricing, confirm product availability, and identify long-lead or specialty items that may impact project schedule or execution.
• Advise Sales Professionals and Project Managers regarding products and materials required for installation, including potential availability, compatibility, or lead-time concerns.
• Prepare and/or review formal submittal packages, including schematics, product data, and technical literature, as required to support project contracts.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and electronic security systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
• Minimum Experience: 3-5 years relative industry sales engineering, estimating or equivalent
