- The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other menu items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment and ensures all food safety and operational standards are met
Responsibilities
- · Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and standards
- · Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
- · Take customer orders accurately and process payments through the POS system
- · Recommend menu items and upsell products when appropriate
- · Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment
- · Restock supplies, ingredients, and merchandise as needed
- · Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- · Monitor product quality and presentation standards
- · Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment
- · Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and inventory counts
- · Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary
- · Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso equipment is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings
