Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Veeam Software in Pune, India

Job description

• We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end workflows.
• The Senior SDET will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other SDETs to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role requires strong technical expertise, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a cloud-native environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and Performance testing.
• Contribute reusable automation libraries, utilities, tools, and testing practices that can be adopted across engineering teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives around test strategy, automation, CI/CD, quality metrics, and engineering practices.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines integration.
• Develop tools to simplify the testing process
• Validate distributed and cloud-native systems involving APIs, microservices, queues, databases, and asynchronous workflows.
• Preparing technical documentation and specifications
• Mentor other SDETs and contribute to the overall Quality Engineering culture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in test automation and software testing practices.
• Strong programming experience in C#/.NET or a comparable programming language and shell scripting or other scripting languages like Python
• Experience with UI automation frameworks (such as Playwright), API automation and REST APIs.
• Experience with xUnit/NUnit or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with performance and scalability testing frameworks
• Ability to simulate real-world load conditions and analyse system behaviour under stress
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.
• Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes and related cloud-native projects
• Understanding of container orchestration, service mesh, and observability tools
• Ability to build reusable components and utilities for test and infrastructure automation
• Strong ownership of projects and good communication skills
• Experience developing in Golang
• Experience with public cloud APIs like AWS, Azure, Google.
• Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, or other modern communication protocols.
• Experience with test virtualization/mocking tools such as WireMock
