Job description

• Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a IT Data Platform Product Owner. The expected annual salary range for this role is $146000 - $215000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for maximizing the value of Eaton’s AI and Data Platform products by creating, prioritizing and managing product roadmaps, backlog and demand.
• The Product Owner provides oversight across Snowflake, Dataiku, Coalesce, Palantir and data acquisition/ingestion products that significantly impact Eaton's business outcomes with work that is foundational to organization.
• In this role, the succesful Product Owner sets and communicates the product vision, develops and maintains product roadmap while defining key operational processes such as product programs & enhancements. Working closely with stakeholders, AI, data & analytics teams and platform consumers to define deliverables that align with strategic objectives.
• Additionally, Product Owner tracks and manages product funding, establishes work priorities for technical leadership and balances new feature development with continuous improvement, platform health and support.
• Collaborating directly with executive leadership, architects, analysts, and other product team members to execute product roadmap, guide product development lifecycle, define user stories and represent the voice of the customer throughout product processes.
• • Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and strategy for AI & data platforms plus data acquisition portfolio (Snowflake, Dataiku, Coalesce, Palantir, ingestion/integration services) to meet customer and business needs
• • Own product backlog, managing and prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and continuous improvement work
• • Plan, manage and track product demand including platform consumption and licensing costs
• • Develops and maintains product-specific personas and customer journeys for stake, data engineers, analysts, and data science consumers
• • Work closely with business stakeholders and customers, understanding their priorities and defining business outcomes and KPIs for the product in collaboration with those key stakeholders
• • Communicate goals for product enhancements and releases. Define goals for team sprints.
• • Support the onboarding of internal and external resources, including onboarding of new data sources, domains, and platform tenants
• • Supporting product stability and governance: including data quality, data privacy, policy, cybersecurity, access management, and usage
• • Build functional expertise in areas related to the product, modern AI & data platforms, data engineering, and analytics enablement
• • Support establishment of product processes (e.g., release schedule) and support process improvement activities across product processes (Lean, Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, DataOps, etc.)
• • Manage technical and operational debt ensuring alignment within roadmaps
• • Support a Secure Product Development Lifecycle approach that establishes a strong cybersecurity focus and culture across the entire engineering lifecycle.

Requirements

• • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• • Minimum six (6) years of experience as an project manager, product owner, architect, BRM or program lead on technology projects and programs, including experience with AI & data platforms, analytics, or integration products
• • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood OH Galesburg, MI - Moon, PA - Houston, TX - Menomonee Falls, WI - Raleigh, NC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for this role.
• • Familiarity with design thinking methodologies
• • Ability to create and manage product roadmaps across multiple platform products and vendor relationships
• • AI & Data orientation and ability to make data-driven decisions
• • Clear understanding of lean principles with respect to product and portfolio management
• • Comfortable working directly with business leaders, external customers, and engineering teams
• • Experience working with diverse, global cultures, organizations and teams.
• • Ability to manage vendor and partner relationships across multiple platform providers.
• • Demonstrable understanding of product management and modern product delivery processes
• • General understanding of DevSecOps and DataOps principles
• • General familiarity with modern software platform management and strategic planning
• • Experience with Agile delivery and use of Jira.
• • Familiarity with one or more of Snowflake, Dataiku, Coalesce, or Palantir Foundry, and an understanding of cloud data warehousing, transformation, and analytics/AI workflows and adavantage
• • Experience with data acquisition and integration patterns including batch and streaming ingestion an advantage
• • Understanding of data governance frameworks, AI principles, data products/data mesh concepts an advantage
