Job description

• This role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. The candidate will work as a Project Manager for products that are part Foundation SAS. As a Project Manager, candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management: the direction, planning and estimation, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with SAS’ overall strategy, commitments, and goals.

Responsibilities

• Supports R&D Engineering teams in completing deadline-driven, team-based projects. Responsible for facilitating overall project objectives, goals and project requirements. Works with team and stakeholders to define project scope and goals.Plans, prioritizes, implements and adjusts delivery schedule, scope, resourcing, and quality, based on individual project requirements per consultation with project stakeholders.
• Works with management to identify resource needs and coordinate technical resources for assigned projects, including both domestic and international resources. Maintains project documentation such as project plans, schedules, issue lists, risk registers, and status reports.
• Coordinates, communicates, and facilitates activities between team members and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and manage conflict. Coordinates risk mitigation activity and escalates as appropriate. Manages project scope and expectations. Identifies and constructively negotiates conflicts or areas of high risk
• Leverages methodologies, processes, project tools, and best practices to accelerate project delivery.
• Identifies project dependencies and stakeholder influences, working jointly with other organizations who share responsibility for delivery of final product. Acts as central point of contact and interfaces with interested parties across the Company, such as Legal, Marketing and SAS.com to ensure project success.
• Manages multiple small to medium scale projects independently with minimal supervision using existing methods and procedures on new assignments.
• Suggests and influences changes to methods and procedures.
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
• Trains end-users in new products, solutions and/or processes
• Sphere of influence: immediate co-workers/team members

Requirements

• Proven ability to lead end-to-end project management across planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
• Capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies with hands-on experience driving Agile project execution and continuous delivery.
• Ability to lead CI/CD-oriented project teams and align delivery with organizational strategy and goals.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for project outcomes, ensuring commitments are met with high quality and reliability.
• Ability to take proactive decisions, escalate risks appropriately, and ensure closure of action items.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including expectation setting, conflict resolution, and negotiation.

• Ability to design, standardize, and optimize project management processes and workflows
• Has PMP & CSM (or equivalent) certifications. Has undergone Agile trainings

• Ability to manage budgeting process and analyze budget performance is desirable
