• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will partner with Payroll team members to support accurate and timely payroll administration across North America. Key responsibilities include analyzing payroll data, ensuring payroll taxes are filed timely, meeting payroll-related deadlines, maintaining compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes.
• The Senior Payroll Analyst will collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization, including new hires, managers, internal business partners, and external vendors. This role will provide knowledgeable and responsive support while promoting efficient, accurate, and positive payroll experience. The analyst will also guide team members and business partners on payroll requirements and established processes, troubleshoot discrepancies, resolve payroll-related issues, and support ongoing compliance.

Responsibilities

• In Collaboration with payroll team members, lead processing and reconciliation of the North America (US, Canada and Puerto Rico) bi-weekly payroll using ADP Lyric. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all payroll transactions through audit, and analytics prior to submitting payroll
• Perform analytical review of bi-weekly payrolls to ensure accuracy prior to sign-off
• As subject matter expert, you will partner with HR Business Partners to guide managers and Team Members to ensure all timecard and time off transactions are completed accurately and timely within company policy and regulations.
• Prepare, calculate, and process off-cycle payroll check as required including for terminations based on state/province regulations.
• Analyze, calculate and file the quarter end and year end taxes, and process tax payments to various tax authorities.
• Work with internal and external teams to process and ensure timely and accuracy of all year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, T4, RL1, and T2200 etc.).
• Collaborate with third party vendors to process garnishments, unemployment wage claims, and Tax notices/changes as needed.
• Initiate and coordinate new state and local payroll tax registrations and system setups, including third-party administrator access and power-of-attorney requirements.
• Respond to all internal and external inquiries within Service Level Agreements.
• Independently research, investigate, and resolve complex payroll issues by applying strong analytical skills, payroll best practices, and knowledge of wage-and-hour laws, payroll tax requirements, and employment regulations.
• ­Research current and pending regulations affecting payroll and recommend necessary actions and changes to meet new requirements.
• Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
• Support ADP Lyric process improvements and serve as a key payroll member for system upgrades, configuration changes, integrations, testing, and payroll conversions.
• Conduct regular payroll audits, identify discrepancies or control gaps, and support corrective actions to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Exercise good judgement, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering multi-state payroll and applying federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax requirements
• 4 + years of Canada payroll experience.
• Preferred knowledge of calculating CNESST payment.
• Experience with US payroll processing prefer.
• Experience with union payroll preferred.
• Canada Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP)/US Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements, employment standards, vacation entitlements, and time-off regulations required.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws and their application to payroll operations preferred.
• Knowledge of US multi-state payroll and payroll taxes as preferred.
• Experience in ADP Lyric and time keeping system or similar system.
• Proficient in Excel (Example: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and If then formula).
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, able to multi-task and perform the job function meeting tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
• Highly ethical team player with a strong ability to maintain confidentiality to payroll and other employee personal information.
• Strong communications skills in dealing with internal and external parties of all levels, a positive attitude, showing a willingness to learn and take on challenges in a fast-paced environment.
