Specialist, Global Infrastructure Operations at APL Logistics in Singapore

Job description

• Assist with the implementation of global infrastructure operations and
• maintenance to ensure availability of stable and secure systems and networks.
• Actively participate in major maintenance and troubleshooting issues and
• executing upgrades to infrastructure systems.
• Design specific infrastructure solutions to support the broader technical
• architecture of how servers, networks and storage systems work together to
• support the needs of the organization. Contribute to the development and
• maintenance of infrastructure blueprints/roadmaps, monitor infrastructure
• performance and suggest improvements where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Network Development & Maintenance
• - Implement infrastructure solutions across on-premise, server and cloud
• infrastructure that adhere to current architecture standards.
• - Lead the testing of implemented infrastructure solutions to ensure requirements
• are met.
• - Manage the integration of third party technologies into cloud infrastructure.
• - Maintain documentation on administration, installation, configuration and
• troubleshooting.
• - Develop system and service deployment scripts.
• - Partner with IT security team to ensure adherence to security requirements for
• infrastructure operations.
• - Analyse and present findings on infrastructure capabilities and limitations.
• - Tune infrastructure and cloud systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Support initiatives to improve the infrastructure systems and service delivery
• through automation and virtualisation.
• - Prepare reports on performance, reliability, availability, utilisation patterns etc.
• - Investigate and assess the risks of network attacks and recommend remedial
• action.
• Infrastructure & Network Development & Maintenance
• - Simulate user problems to perform end to end diagnosis for infrastructure
• incidents.
• - Analyse audit trails to detect systematic security violations related to
• infrastructure.
• - Resolve escalations or major issues relating to infrastructure operations.
• Escalate more complex issues to more senior colleagues.
• - Assist senior colleagues in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• - Identify key infrastructure operations issues and maintenance priorities.
• - Address gaps in performance or availability based on identified metrics.
• - Manage the implementation of agreed infrastructure change requests and
• maintenance routines as per SLAs and project timelines.
• - Conduct pre-deployment testing of systems to ensure reliability.
• - Organise schedules for planned maintenance and system back up processes.
• - Perform provisioning of cloud resources.
• - Configure infrastructure environment for software development and prototyping.
• Enterprise Architecture & Modernization
• - Support the lifecycle and maintenance of enterprise middleware platforms.
• - Build, implement and maintain robust solutions for middleware products to
• meet business demands including performance tuning, upgrades, clustering,
• redundancy and disaster recovery.
• - Propose suggestions to enhance infrastructure architecture.
• - Design and write code for scalable systems through automation to manage
• recurring tasks.
• - Modernise platform design and security practices etc.
• - Control the integration of new software with existing components and adjust the
• configurations.
• - Execute the setup of new IT Infrastructure including physical servers, SAN
• storage, virtual server environment, enterprise backup/recovery and UAT with
• external technology vendors.
• - Execute system administration related activities such as overall performance,
• system health, system availability, and latency.
• - Implement identity and access management controls.
• - Monitor compliance of data management and retention processes

Requirements

• Experienced practitioner who is able to work under minimum
• supervision (Over 18 months to 3 years).
