Senior Product Manager, Revenue Cycle at Healthie in NYC

• Healthie is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own how healthcare organizations get paid by insurers.
• Legacy EHRs were built to maximize what could be billed, and care bent around that. We are building the opposite: billing that serves care delivery, where every dollar can be explained to the practice that earned it and the patient asked to pay it. We are making a deliberate, funded bet here: a practice should be able to complete the entire financial life cycle of a visit, from confirming coverage before the patient arrives to collecting the final dollar, without ever leaving Healthie.
• That bet is large enough that we have split it across two squads, along a line that will hold for many years. One owns the money we control and have to explain to a human. The other, this role, owns the money we have to collect from insurers at scale. Those turn out to be two different disciplines, and each deserves its own team.
• You own the question "how does a practice get paid by insurers with the least human effort possible?" Today a biller using Healthie (or any platform) spends the day playing detective: chasing status, reworking rejections, and finding out weeks after the visit that something was wrong at the start.
• What you are building replaces that with a calm, clear workday. Claims go out clean because we catch problems before they are sent. Nothing sits in a queue without someone knowing why it is there and what happens next. When a payer says no, the next step is obvious and mostly already done for you.
• Get that right and a practice gets paid faster with fewer people, which is the difference between selling software to billers and giving a practice something closer to a billing team. That is a business in its own right rather than a feature of the EHR.
• The earliest work is foundational and you will shape it, and you would be this squad's founding product manager. You will also work closely with our incredible third party billing partners that collectively aim to make healthcare billing as painless as possible at scale.
• This is a multi-year charter where the decisions you make in your first two quarters will still be load-bearing in five years.
• Healthie sits at a rare intersection: a genuinely complex domain, an API-first platform with real technical depth, and customers who feel your decisions in their bank accounts. Requirements

• This is a domain role. We have concluded that revenue cycle takes too long to learn on the job for this to be a generalist seat, so we are looking for someone who already knows how the money moves.
• Experience. You have at least 5 years in product management, including 2 or more years owning systems where correctness has financial or regulatory consequences.
• Revenue cycle depth. You have direct, hands-on experience in healthcare revenue cycle. You understand the claim lifecycle end to end, how payers actually behave, why claims are rejected versus denied, how remittance and adjustment data work, and how patient responsibility is determined. You have opinions about what good looks like here, formed by having lived it. We are open on how you got that experience: as a product manager on billing, claims, or payments products, or as a biller, RCM operator, or revenue cycle leader who moved into product.
• Ownership and prioritization. You have owned a roadmap, not just a backlog. You can explain how you decided what came first, what you refused to do, and how you held that line when someone senior pushed. You get there from evidence, including time spent with the people who use the thing.
• Systems thinking. You instinctively look for edge cases and reason from first principles about how systems fail. You think in objects, states, and transitions rather than screens.
• Technical fluency. You read API documentation, reason about how systems behave, and can hold a design tradeoff conversation with a staff engineer without hand-waving. If you were never an engineer, you can still talk the talk.
• AI fluency. You use modern AI tools as a matter of course and are appropriately skeptical of them. You do not need to train models. You do need to be able to say where an agent was wrong and how you caught it.
• Decisiveness. You act on incomplete information. You state your assumption, choose, write down what would change your mind, and move.
• Sequencing. You have taken a foundational rewrite or migration and found the slices that delivered value before the whole thing was done.
• Communication. You explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, and you are comfortable defending a recommendation to executives and changing it when the argument is good.
• Alignment. Strong alignment with Healthie's core values and culture: Respect, Resilience, Reliability and no ego.
• Worked with clearinghouses or built to X12 transaction sets directly, for example 837 claims, 835 remittance, or 270 and 271 eligibility.
• Depth in behavioral health, nutrition, or another specialty that bills outside the hospital, where the payer rules and the economics differ from a health system.
• Experience with coordination of benefits, secondary claims, or corrections and appeals.
• Built revenue cycle products on an API or platform, rather than only inside a single practice's four walls.
• Depth in an adjacent money-moving domain such as fintech, insurance, or marketplace payouts, on top of the healthcare experience above.
