Technical Project Manager at DNV in Taipei, China

Job description

• We are currently looking for a technical project manager with a strong profile and keen interest in working with renewable energy who will join the renewables certification team located in Taipei and report to the Area Manager for Taiwan.
• Project Certification delivers services related to certification and verification primarily for Offshore Wind Farms and support structures for Wind turbines. Activities cover all steps in the certification process from review of early designs to design verification, fabrication surveillance, commissioning and periodic inspection of installations in operation as well as project management.

Responsibilities

• As a project manager for offshore wind certification projects, you will coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team engaged in design verification activities in different disciplines in close collaboration with their line managers and coordinate inspection activities within DNV´s global network. You will also be the main point of contact for our clients and responsible for the preparation of our deliverables within the expected timeline, budget and quality. For new requests, you will also be engaged as a bid manager or part of the bid team to prepare the proposal.
• Assessment and independent analysis of support structures for wind turbines offshore (towers, substructures and foundations etc.).
• Review client technical documents and methodology to confirm compliance with design standards and certification requirements.
• Participate in development of DNV standards and other research-oriented projects.
• Deliver consistently high-quality work and meet tight deadlines.
• Work according to accredited certification processes to ensure a consistent, independent and auditable record.
• Interaction, communication and collaboration with colleagues internationally to complete integrated analyses for offshore projects.
• Lead technical reviews and project progress meetings with clients.
• Occasional travel within Taiwan and occasional travel to Europe is expected.
• Manage customer relationships and actively develop new business opportunities in the renewables market.
• Compliance with DNV’s health and safety policies at all times.

Requirements

• Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate some of the below competences:
• Engineering degree (M.Sc / B.Sc) in civil, structural or marine engineering, naval architecture or equivalent.
• Project management experience, with understanding of technical interfaces, project finance management.
• Experience with proposal preparation.
• Relevant experience from similar positions.
• Knowledge of relevant European and international codes and offshore standards.
• Experience with design of offshore structures including fatigue.
• Experience with calculation software (SESAM, Sofistik, Ansys, Abaqus, Plaxis, Flac3D or similar).
• Experience with manufacturing and Offshore installation survey/surveillance.
• Has the desire and capability to make a difference and is motivated to be part of the growing offshore wind industry in Taiwan that will produce clean, reliable power to combat climate change are structured and service-minded, always focusing on delivering high quality results are self-motivated, independent thinker with an active interest in Renewable Energy are a team player with strong communication skills and you work equally well on your own as with colleagues have the ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic, proactive in achieving results work in depth with your assignments and have a good balance between detail and overview have strong English and Mandarin Chinese skills (written and spoken).
