Job description
- The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a well-known hospital in Helena, Montana and we are looking for compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) for 12-hour night shifts.

- The RN is responsible for providing direct, holistic, and family-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment. You’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while working closely with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate treatment.
- This role plays a critical part in moving patients through the care continuum while supporting a culture of teamwork, integrity, and clinical excellence.
- Schedule: Full-Time | Nights | 12 hour shifts | 0.9 FTE
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, holistic, family-centered nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans based on nursing standards
- Provide direct patient care alongside experienced nursing leadership, including the Director (or designee) and Charge Nurse.
- Perform accurate and detailed patient assessments and maintain timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Support smooth patient transitions and continuity of care through effective hand-offs and collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, healthcare teams, co-workers, and the community in a strong teamwork-driven culture to develop and carry out care plans
- Promote quality patient care and support unit safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Relevant experience demonstrating the ability to perform successfully as a staff RN
- Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing required
- Nurses caring for orthopedic and spine patients must
- Meet established educational and competency standards in accordance with DNV Orthopedic and Spine certification requirements
- Complete specialty-specific education and annual competency validation
- Participation in continuing education related to orthopedic and spine care is expected, including updates on clinical guidelines, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Musculoskeletal system anatomy and physiology
- ERAS
- Pain management strategies
- Mobility and safety
- Prevention of complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), infection, and pressure injuries
- Glucose management
- Compartment syndrome
- Current Montana RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Medical-Surgical or Geriatric Nursing certification preferred
- Strong cognitive, clinical judgment, organizational, decision-making and emotional skills to manage multiple tasks, stress, and challenging situations
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for empathetic, patient-centered care and customer service
- Positive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Commitment to patient advocacy and achieving positive patient outcomes
- Ability to meet organizational behavioral standards
- Adaptability to feedback, changing schedules, equipment, and department needs

- Current Montana RN license required
- BLS certification required
