Job description

• The Business Excellence Analyst will support key areas of the Australasia Division in Mastercard across pricing, interchange, business analytics, regulatory governance and strategic program execution.
• Working closely with divisional and regional stakeholders, the individual will contribute to analytical projects, business performance monitoring, regulatory compliance activities and governance processes that support Mastercard's objectives across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
• The role provides broad exposure across local, regional and global teams, requiring collaboration with stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, as well as regional and global partners.
• This role requires a strong analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from data analysis and performance reporting through to regulatory support, governance activities and strategic initiatives. Adaptability and a willingness to learn are critical, as the role spans a diverse range of business priorities and stakeholder groups.
• Success in this role requires an individual who can seamlessly pivot between analytical, strategic, regulatory and governance activities, applying the appropriate lens to support business decision making and programme execution.

Responsibilities

• • Conduct analysis that supports pricing, interchange and broader customer economics initiatives.
• • Develop insights into customer, market and network performance through data analysis, KPI monitoring, benchmarking and competitive intelligence.
• • Support the preparation and maintenance of recurring business performance reports, dashboards and management information.
• • Assist with the development of business cases, strategic assessments and recommendations by analysing commercial, customer, financial and operational data.
• • Support compliance with existing regulatory obligations through data gathering, monitoring, reporting and governance activities relating to interchange and other regulatory requirements.
• • Assist with analysis of regulatory and industry developments and support implementation of resulting business changes.
• • Support governance processes associated with strategic programmes and funding initiatives, including administration, monitoring, reporting and performance tracking.
• • Contribute to the execution of strategic projects and initiatives, including project coordination, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
• • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across functions and support effective communication and information sharing.
• • Prepare presentations, reports and executive materials that support governance forums, strategic discussions and business decision making.
• • Maintain a strong understanding of payments industry trends, competitive developments and emerging technologies to support strategic analysis and insight generation.
• • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline or improve analytical, reporting and governance processes.

• • Experience working with data, including analysis, reporting, dashboarding or performance monitoring.

• • Passionate about payments, technology and commerce, with a keen interest in understanding the competitive, technological and regulatory forces shaping the future of the industry.
• • Advanced Excel skills and experience with analytical and visualisation tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python or similar platforms would be advantageous.
