Job description

• We are one of the first work-from-anywhere companies with 2,000+ team members utilizing our virtual office called eXp World. This role is work-from-anywhere in Canada.
• Please note: This is a temporary, contract position for an estimated 6 month timeline.

Responsibilities

• The Junior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial entries, reconciliations, tax filings, vendor payments, and reporting. The role also provides support to agents and internal teams, assists with year-end reporting and compliance requirements, and contributes to maintaining effective financial controls, improving accounting processes and implementing special projects.
• All daily, weekly and monthly financial entries, reporting and reconciliations
• Filing sales taxes (GST/HST, PST, QST) and make necessary payments
• Monitoring inter-provincial balances
• Assisting in preparing year-end tax forms and filing such as T4A
• Assisting in preparing agents requested forms
• Generating reports from Back Office
• Downloading expected invoices on time from various vendor systems
• Assisting in inputting invoices into Back Office
• Monitoring vendor accounts
• Following up with uncleared vendor payments
• Assisting in answering agents’ questions (i.e. client enquiries) regarding their expenses
• Assist in implementing effective internal controls and process improvement/documentation
• Other duties that may arise from time to time as required by the Finance Team Lead and AR/AP team
• Other Accountabilities as Assigned

Requirements

• Accounting diploma or equivalent required
• Working towards a CPA designation an asset
• Possess Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a related role
• Tech-Savvy. Must be comfortable in a remote environment working with various communication technologies
• Working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Must be highly organized and familiar with working in a remote environment
