Job description

• The Manager, Helmsman TPA Operations is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and organizing the strategic and operational objectives of Helmsman Management Services LLC (HMS). Accountable for the performance of HMS through management and tactical direction. Coordinates and collaborates with Commercial Market departments and functions on the sale and delivery of services.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the implementation of strategic and operational objectives of HMS, with significant effect on growth, profit, operational objectives and Commercial Market alignment.
• Ensures the achievement of continued profitability, growth and/or operational efficiencies for HMS through assessment of pricing discipline, market appetite and product and service development.
• Develops and maintains pricing guidelines and discipline.
• Evaluates pricing performance based on financial analysis and P L management.
• Serves as a SME for Commercial Market finance with regards to claim and managed care pricing and costing.
• Monitors regulatory environment to ensure appropriateness of current strategy and operating procedures.
• Determines and manages implementation of changes as necessary.
• Assists General Manager in development of strategic marketing initiatives with Helmsman Sales, Service and Broker community. Enhances and maintains Helmsman presence with the brokerage and carrier community by solidifying key relationships.
• Directs and coordinates operational and financial objectives with HMS management, financial, legal and any other appropriate Commercial Market departments. Responsible for developing and maintaining fronting carrier partner relationships including all regulatory, legal and servicing issues.
• Collaborates with Marketing and service departments in product development.
• Establishes and maintains product and pricing structure consistent with organizational and system controls.
• Leads, directs and has full management accountability for staff with an emphasis on employee selection, development, succession planning and performance.
• Manage the Helmsman Data Services organization to deliver customer and carrier data as wells the intake of takeover data from carrier or other TPA.

Requirements

• Ten years of experience in any combination of: financial analysis, product and service management, marketing, systems/process development and design management experience
• Master`s degree in business administration or finance required
• Knowledge of operations of various servicing departments required
• Extensive knowledge of third-party administration marketplace and regulatory environment required
• Background in accounting, taxes or law helpful
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that balances pricing discipline and growth while achieving profitability
• Experience in employee development, succession planning and managing operational performance
