• As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring that all technical, quality, safety, and environmental standards are met in full compliance with contract requirements. You will drive project success by balancing rigorous schedule adherence with proactive client relationship management to exceed expectations throughout the lifecycle. You will be accountable for the financial health of your projects, strictly managing project profit margins and optimizing free cash flow to achieve or improve upon established budgetary targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead multiple projects, Self-Implement (TKSI), Turnkey with Partner (TKP) - Large, complex multi-year or EPC projects providing ongoing guidance and support.
• Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development
• Oversee key stakeholder management at the GSI Business Line level.
• Fulfill project orders according to specifications, budget, and schedule.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Achieve project objectives regarding profitability, sales turnover, and project free cash flow.
• Prepare project acceptance and review documents in alignment with business policies.
• Manage project scope, scheduling, cost-to-complete, and risk and opportunity assessments.
• Maintain close communication with client representatives to foster positive relationships and resolve dissatisfaction issues promptly.
• Manage and motivate project team members to ensure required competencies and performance.
• Authorize and instruct team members to implement dispositions for non-conformance reports.
• Allocate tasks and subprojects to the design team in coordination with the Engineering Manager.
• Approve the issue of technical documents and drawings, and convene design review meetings.
• Lead by example to ensure safe working environments and environmental compliance for all stakeholders.
• Promote safe working practices through ongoing communication with team members and subcontractors.
• Implement processes for strong budget management and execute remedial actions as needed.
• Authorize the placement of project purchase orders.
• Maintain contact with internal and external suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project teams, including roles such as Design Engineer, Project Engineer, or Site Management.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as a Project Director, Project Manager, or Site Manager.
• Proven experience delivering turnkey Design and Construct (EPC) substation projects at voltages of 132kV or above.
• Experience with Engineered Equipment Packages (EEP) and equipment design and supply-only projects.
• Exposure to both Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation technologies.
• Demonstrated understanding of client expectations and proficiency in applying Project Management Handbook (PMH) guidelines, policies, and systems.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with project financial reporting and commercial contract management.
• Expertise in health, safety, and environmental requirements relevant to design and construction projects.
• Experience working within the electricity transmission or distribution industry, with a strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards.
• Comprehensive technical competencies in project management, electrical engineering design, and construction management.
• Strong managerial capabilities, including client and subcontractor management, effective negotiation, time management, and people leadership.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Established project management skills.
