• The Senior Loan Operations Support Specialist provides technical guidance and support to team members and serves as a subject matter expert for loan operations, quality assurance, process improvement, and the implementation of strategic initiatives. This position partners with management to strengthen operational excellence through loan review, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Loan Operations Support Specialist reports to the Loan Operations Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to team members to include training, coaching, mentoring, identifying skill gaps, and recommending training opportunities
• Serve as a subject matter expert for loan operations, quality assurance, process improvement, and implementation of strategic initiatives
• Serve as a resource for team members to include assisting with complex issues or inquiries, recognizing when escalation is needed in order to improve the customer experience
• Promote consistency and best practices across the department
• Partner with management to strengthen operational excellence through loan review, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
• Perform advanced quality reviews of commercial, consumer, mortgage, and servicing activities
• Identify operational risk, process gaps, and compliance concerns and escalate as appropriate
• Assist in driving operational efficiency through strategic initiatives to include system optimization and process improvement
• Lead testing of system enhancements and software implementations
• Assist with internal audits and regulatory examinations
• Analyze trends in errors and recommend corrective actions
• Develop quality metrics and reporting for leadership
• Recommend policy and procedure enhancements
• Facilitate departmental projects from planning through implementation to include verifying projects are completed on time while minimizing operational disruption
• Develop project timelines, milestones, and status updates
• Coordinate operational readiness for new products or regulatory changes to include creating job aids and operational documentation, and leading workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
• Attend training as requested
• Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
• Participate in outside community activities as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 7 years of experience in loan operations or consumer lending
• Strong knowledge of loan operations including loan documentation, collateral perfection, compliance and regulatory requirements
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
• Ability to train and develop others
• Ability to focus on high level of detail verification
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the ability to interact in a helpful and professional manner
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks
