Responsibilities
- This role will see you taking up a senior level position within this company's network architecture team, contributing to all phases of projects aimed at enhancing the performance and capacity of the network, from designing and selecting new solutions through to the leading implementations, getting down to the technical detail of the computing architecture and troubleshooting when problems arise. You'll be working on projects that have a direct impact on the company's live trading and research platforms.
Requirements
- Significant experience in the network architecture domain including (but not limited to) network devices from Cisco and Arista
- Detailed understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols and best practices, including working knowledge of IGMP, BGP, PIM, OSPF
- Experience selecting and working with providers to design and implement switch solutions for next-generation computing environments.
- Experience in designing computing and grid networks and capacity planning
- Experience of high performance computing (HPC) high throughput computing (HTC) environments
- Comfortable using Linux/UNIX command line tools and network stacks
- Experience with tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark or similar
- Experience with public cloud solutions such as Azure, GCP and/or AWS
- Familiarity with as many of the following as possible; Ansible, Salt, Python, Grafana, GitHub, ELK, Prometheus
- Familiarity with the power consumption and cooling requirements of datacenter environments
