- The Purchasing Intern is responsible for assisting the Purchasing team with various procurement, data analysis, and process improvement activities. The Purchasing Intern supports procurement initiatives, cost savings opportunities, supplier activities, and purchasing-related reporting.
- Domestic travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- o Assist with reviewing purchasing data, identifying trends, and reporting areas of concern or opportunities for cost savings
- o Support purchasing process improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and development of presentations
- o Interact with various departments of the organization, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Finance, and Supply Chain, to support purchasing activities and achieve company objectives
- o Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
- Required Skills
- o Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
- o Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
- o Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
- o Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness
- Education and Experience
- o High School diploma or equivalent and enrolled in a university or college with a goal of achieving a degree
