• Algo is looking for an HR Generalist / Office Manager to support the day-to-day administrative operations that keep our People and office functions running smoothly. This role is the operational backbone of HR and office life at Algo — handling the paperwork, data entry, coordination, and logistics that let the rest of the team focus on strategy and people programs.
• This is a great fit for someone early in their HR career who's highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the fundamentals of HR operations while also keeping the office running. You'll work closely with and receive mentorship from the People Operations Lead and wider HR team as you build your skills.

Responsibilities

• HR Administration
• Process employee data changes (new hires, terminations, salary updates, leaves) and ensure they're entered accurately into HRIS and payroll-support systems.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records and files in BambooHR, following document retention and confidentiality practices.
• Support onboarding and offboarding: prepare new-hire paperwork, set up system access requests, coordinate equipment and welcome materials, and process exit documentation.
• Help track and file compliance-related paperwork (e.g., certifications, policy acknowledgments, employment forms).
• Assist with basic payroll and benefits administration tasks — entering data, gathering documentation, and following up on missing information — in support of the payroll team.
• Answer routine employee questions about policies, procedures, and where to find information, escalating anything complex to the appropriate team member.
• Help schedule interviews, send calendar invites, and coordinate logistics for the hiring process.
• Office Management
• Manage day-to-day office operations: supplies, vendor orders, mail/deliveries, and general upkeep of the workspace.
• Coordinate with building management and vendors on maintenance, repairs, and office services.
• Organize company events, team lunches, and office celebrations.
• Greet visitors and manage front-of-office responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain office-related budgets, expense tracking, and simple vendor invoice reconciliation.
• Process & Records Support
• Build and maintain simple checklists and trackers for recurring HR and office tasks.
• Support internal audits by pulling and organizing requested documentation.
• Flag process gaps or inefficiencies to the team and help implement small improvements.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in HR administration, office management, or a related administrative role (internships count).
• Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail.
• Comfort juggling multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, can-do attitude — willing to pitch in wherever needed.
• Basic proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; comfort learning new software tools (HRIS, payroll systems).
• Discretion when handling confidential employee information.
• Friendly, clear communication style — you're often the first point of contact for employees and visitors.
• Coursework or certificate in Human Resources (e.g., CHRP track).
• Familiarity with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms.
• Prior experience in a front-desk, administrative assistant, or office coordinator role.
