• Construction Business Development Manager – Northern California
• Location: Livermore or Stockton, CA
• Territory: East Bay, Central Valley through Sacramento, Santa Rosa, San Jose, and surrounding markets
• Reports To: Vice President
• Compensation: Up to $180,000 base with no commission OR $150,000 base + commission
• We are seeking an experienced Construction Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our presence throughout Northern California
• This role is ideal for a relationship-focused professional with a deep understanding of the commercial construction industry and an established network of owners, developers, brokers, architects, consultants, and industry partners
• Reporting directly to the Vice President, you will play a key role in identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and positioning the company for growth across multiple market sectors
• You are a motivated, relationship-driven construction professional who understands how projects are developed, who the key decision-makers are, and how to build relationships that lead to long-term business opportunities

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies across Northern California
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, brokers, architects, consultants, and industry influencers
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities across retail, office, medical, multifamily, and other commercial sectors
• Leverage your existing industry network to generate qualified business opportunities
• Collaborate with operations and preconstruction teams to support project pursuits, proposals, and client presentations
• Attend industry events, networking functions, and community organizations to strengthen market presence
• Track and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline from initial contact through project award
• Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and client feedback to leadership
• Support proposal development, interviews, and other business growth initiatives
• Represent the company professionally and uphold its reputation for quality and integrity

Requirements

• At least 10+ years of business development, sales, client development, or related experience within the construction industry
• Established network of industry contacts throughout Northern California
• Strong relationships within the East Bay, Central Valley through Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and San Jose markets
• Peninsula relationships are a plus but not required
• Proven track record of generating new business and developing client relationships
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction markets and project delivery methods
• Experience pursuing projects across retail, office, medical, multifamily, and other commercial sectors
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
• Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and business development tools
• Ability to travel throughout Northern California as needed

• We offer flexible compensation structures based on experience and career goals:
• Up to $180,000 base salary with no commission, OR $150,000 base salary plus commission opportunities
• Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market expertise.
