- Dana-co, a women’s intimate apparel company, is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our finance team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on accounting experience in a small or midsize company who enjoys managing day-to-day transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a variety of accounting functions.
- The Accounting Associate will work closely with members of the finance team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Process and accurately record routine accounting transactions.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper approval.
- Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, spreadsheets, and financial records.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, vendor, and other assigned accounts.
- Research and help resolve discrepancies in accounts, invoices, and payments.
- Assist with journal entries and month-end closing activities.
- Support the preparation of internal financial reports and audit documentation.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
- Perform data entry and provide administrative support to the finance department.
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding accounting matters.
- Handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- One to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or similar experience.
- Experience working within a small or midsize company is strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and organizing financial data.
- Experience using accounting or ERP software; QuickBooks or similar system experience is a plus.
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to identify discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to perform both detailed accounting work and routine administrative tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
