- The Software Engineering Manager coordinates the execution of the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional business partnering and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Own the Procurement application portfolio, roadmap, and overall application health.
- Ensure application availability, performance, security, compliance, and resilience.
- Manage application lifecycle activities including upgrades, releases, vendor support, and risk management.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of procurement technology initiatives and transformation programs.
- Manage delivery across internal teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Ensure delivery against scope, timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
- Procurement Platform Expertise
- Strong experience with Procurement platforms, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), and Source-to-Pay (S2P) solutions.
- Lead platform modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience leading Agile, Scrum, and DevOps delivery models.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog management, delivery tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Technology & Architecture
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, microservices, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to review solution designs and align engineering solutions with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Experience managing senior business stakeholders, product owners, vendors, and technology partners.
- Strong governance, risk management, budgeting, and reporting skills.
Requirements
- 8-12 years of experience in S2p/Procurement Enterprise Applications, or Digital Technology delivery.
- Proven experience managing enterprise application portfolios.
- Strong experience delivering Procurement Platform Transformation programmes.
- Strong experience delivering Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) transformation programmes.
- Experience working within Source-to-Pay (S2P) business processes and operating models.
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering and support teams.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and system integrators.
- Experience operating within Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps environments.
