• Design and build the next generation of analytical data products for Apple’s Wallet, Payments & Commerce — from instrumentation specs to last-mile datasets and interactive Visualization. Serves as a hands-on Data Product & BI Lead, driving end-to-end delivery of scalable, privacy-first analytics platforms that power trusted insights across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Define data instrumentation specs, user journeys, and interaction flows to systematically collect behavioral, transactional, and operational data — enabling robust analytics and insightful reporting
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable analytical last-mile datasets and data products
• Design and build a solid metrics layer to drive trustworthy insights and AI-driven inferences
• Establish data quality frameworks (e.g., anomaly detection) to ensure accuracy and consistency across all data products
• Develop data visualizations leveraging AI and modern tools, as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with a diverse set of partners across product, engineering, design, and business to gather requirements, prioritize use cases, and ensure high-quality data product delivery.
• Lead discovery workshops with domain experts and synthesize requirements into wireframes, mockups, and development specifications
• This role is a senior IC position with team influence , you are expected to actively mentor and up-level junior engineers and team members working alongside you.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying next-generation data and AI-powered analytical products.
• 3+ years as a senior IC leading the development of data products, AI-enabled analytics, and visualizations across multiple lines of business.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Scala, Python with hands-on experience in data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow), CI/CD practices, and version control.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional data modeling, semantic/metrics layers, and metric standardization.
• Experience applying Generative AI/LLMs and agentic AI patterns to analytics use cases such as insight generation, natural-language data exploration, and workflow automation.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across engineering and business teams
• Excellent Executive communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with digital payments or fintech data — transaction metrics, funnel analytics, financial KPIs
• Familiarity with AI-driven analytics / conversational BI
• Knowledge of data governance, data cataloging, and metadata management
• Experience working closely with data engineering and platform teams to align on data models, and infrastructure/platform requirements
• Proven record in leading junior engineers to build metrics or BI foundation
