Job description

• Payrate: $84.00 - $85.00/hr.
• The role involves contributing to programming, project management, and development assignments, specifically focusing on backend services within the Company's Digital platform. The work environment is hybrid, requiring office presence twice a week, with the possibility of increased office days.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend RESTful API web services using Microservices architecture.
• Oversee and mentor other developers and conduct code reviews.
• Act as a team leader for development and support groups; provide programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to team members.
• Identify and resolve complex application/technical problems.
• Focus on delivering valuable business features through application development.
• Maintain high software quality standards by establishing good practices and habits.
• Guide the team in developing structured application/interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides.
• Lead the development of new functionality and applications on cross-functional Agile project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; or a minimum of 10 years of experience without a degree.
• 10 years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java.
• Experience in software development using Java 17 or higher and SpringBoot RESTful API development.
• Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with message streaming solutions like AWS Kinesis, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, Azure Event Hub.
• Experience with datastores such as AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis.
• Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GoCD, etc.
• Experience working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).
• Proven experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
• Experience developing software applications using relational and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.
• Experience with AI tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding and experience with message streaming solutions.
• Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman, and Assertible.
• Experience with Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Cucumber and Selenium and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with various AWS technologies, such as API Gateway, ALB, NLB, Fargate, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.
• Experience debugging and maintaining software on Linux or Unix platforms.
• Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, such as data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated leadership on small to medium-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.

• Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $84.00 - $85.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
• Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
