Youth Program Manager, Sto-Rox at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania in McKees Rocks, PA

Job description

• The Youth Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania programming. This role is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where young people can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships.
• The Program Manager plans and delivers high-quality youth programming, supervises staff, builds relationships with students and families, and serves as a key connection within the Clubhouse.

Responsibilities

• Youth Programming & Operations
• Plan, implement, and oversee engaging programs for youth in areas such as STEM, literacy, arts, recreation, leadership, and healthy lifestyles.
• Create a positive, inclusive environment where youth feel safe, supported, and connected.
• Manage daily schedules, activities, attendance, and program operations.
• Support youth recruitment, enrollment, participation, and retention.
• Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with BGCWPA policies and applicable licensing requirements.
• Staff Leadership
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to program staff.
• Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, and staff development.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and positive youth development.
• Family & Community Engagement
• Build strong relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
• Support family engagement activities, events, and special programs.
• Connect youth and families to additional opportunities available through BGCWPA.
• Clubhouse Collaboration
• Work closely with the Clubhouse team to ensure consistency and alignment across programs.
• Support Clubhouse programming, special events, and operations as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organisational initiatives.

Requirements

• Has experience working with children and youth in educational, recreational, after-school, or community-based settings.
• Can build positive relationships with young people, families, and community partners.
• Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Has experience leading programs or supervising staff (preferred).
• Is comfortable using Google Workspace and maintaining program records.
• Is able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Associate degree or higher in Education, Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field.
• Associate degree with relevant experience working with children and youth.
• High school diploma/equivalent with at least two years of relevant youth-serving experience.
