Responsibilities
- Provides direct leadership, supervision, and development of all Executive Council support staff
- Manages Executive Council calendars, schedules, meeting coordination, communication, and priority planning
- Coordinates the flow of information, correspondence, and requests to and from Executive Council
- Serves as the primary liaison between Executive Council, Tribal departments, community members, and external organizations
- Develops and implements administrative processes that improve efficiency, communication, and service to Executive Council
- Ensures timely preparation and distribution of meeting materials, agendas, reports, and supporting documentation
- Monitors project and initiative progress on behalf of Executive Council and follows up with departments regarding assigned actions and deadlines
- Facilitates communication and coordination among Tribal government programs, leadership teams, boards, commissions, and external partners
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information, records, and Executive Council business
- Assists Executive Council in strategic planning, organizational initiatives, budget management, and priority-setting activities
- Develops reports, presentations, briefing materials, and executive communications
- Represents Executive Council in meetings and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- (Applicants will be screened based on these minimum requirements and in compliance with the Tribal Preference Policy)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Organizational Leadership, Political Science, or a related field; or lesser education with 10 years of relevant administrative experience at the pinnacle level.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, executive support, governmental affairs, organizational leadership, or management experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience leading professional or administrative staff
- Experience working with Tribal governments, elected officials, or governmental entities.
- Experience supporting executive-level leaders, governing boards, or elected bodies.
- Knowledge of Tribal sovereignty, Tribal governance, and intergovernmental relations
- Demonstrated experience managing complex executive calendars, priorities, and multiple competing demands
- Strong knowledge of organizational operations, governance practices, and executive-level communications
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in highly sensitive situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, and related business applications
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, leadership teams, employees, community members, and external stakeholders
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Community's vehicle insurance policy
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
