Job description
- The Logistics Control Clerk supports the Livescan department and other operational areas by coordinating order fulfillment, inventory activities, equipment assembly, testing, and shipment preparation. This role reviews orders against schedules, picks and prepares materials according to Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembles Livescan cabinets and associated equipment, and ensures completed systems are properly tested before being handed off for software integration. The position is hands-on and detail-oriented, requiring strong organizational skills, basic technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Review orders against the order schedule and print, pick, and prepare orders according to the applicable Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Prepare completed orders for shipment, ensuring materials and equipment are accurate and properly packaged.
- Assemble Livescan cabinets, including associated devices, components, and cable connections.
- Perform assembly and wiring in a systematic and orderly manner to ensure systems are professionally built and consistently configured.
- Test assembled systems for proper functionality and identify basic issues before handing systems off to Integration for software loading.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
- Work with part numbers, serial numbers, inventory records, and handheld barcode scanners.
- Perform data entry and update information within ERP and other business systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with 5S principles.
- Assist other functional areas as needed based on business requirements.
- Safely use box cutters, rechargeable hand tools, hand tools, and pallet jacks common to an assembly and warehouse environment.
- Identify and resolve basic issues and escalate more complex problems to senior staff.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a positive attitude and focused work habits.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and instructions.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and recognize when issues need to be escalated.
- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to stand, crouch, bend, and perform hands-on assembly activities for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and equipment used in an assembly or warehouse environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully pass a significant government background investigation, including detailed legal, financial, and employment history.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with data entry and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles.
- Experience working with part numbers and serial numbers.
- Experience using handheld barcode scanners.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization principles.
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, assembly, inventory, electronics, or equipment staging environments.
- Experience with basic equipment assembly, wiring, or cable connections.
