- Sands Anderson is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, technology savvy Litigation Paralegal to join our downtown Richmond office. This position provides substantive support to attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have personal injury experience.
Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, edit, and cite-check discovery, pleadings, motions, orders, exhibits, and appellate filings
- Manage e-discovery and support all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and post-trial procedures
- Electronically file documents with General District Court, Circuit Court, and federal courts
- Conduct legal research using internal and external databases and summarize findings for attorneys
- Analyze and monitor case law, legal policies, and legal trends impacting clients
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper case files using the firm’s document management systems
- Communicate with clients, consultants, experts, opposing counsel, and third parties at the direction of attorneys
Requirements
- Working knowledge of e-discovery platforms and litigation technology
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Advanced PDF skills, including Bates labeling, combining/splitting, optimization, and file management
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities
- Excellent client service skills
- Ability to work a standard schedule of 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Strong professionalism, reliability, adaptability and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel and work overtime as business needs dictate
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in a litigation environment
- Experience with state administrative law and agencies
- Experience with electronic document management systems
- Experience with online legal research tools
- E-filing experience required
