As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government ferry transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff at a government ferry transportation location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of ferry terminals, boarding areas, waiting areas, access points, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, check credentials as required, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner in accordance with established emergency response procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and observation reports and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
