Job description

• The Post and Courier seeks a results-driven Multi-Media Account Executive with a digital-first sales approach to grow market share across an assigned territory of established and new accounts. This account executive will lead with digital marketing solutions spanning The Post and Courier's vast owned and operated digital products alongside extended agency offerings such as paid search, paid social and streaming video while also incorporating print and event advertising to build comprehensive, multi-product campaigns for local businesses across the Charleston DMA. This role requires a proven track record of sales success, mastery of The Post and Courier's full portfolio of products, a consultative sales approach, and a commitment to meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly revenue goals while providing quality service to advertising clients.

Responsibilities

• Meet and/or exceed monthly and quarterly digital and print sales goals within assigned territory
• Lead with digital marketing solutions in all client conversations, managing and growing an established account list while continually prospecting for new business
• Project and forecast account revenue, and monitor account spending and contract schedules to ensure commitments are fulfilled
• Analyze client needs to develop customized, digital-first multi-product advertising campaigns, including ad layout, design, and creative direction
• Create and deliver professional proposals and sales presentations, including speculative advertising materials, to prospective and current clients
• Maintain deep, current expertise in The Post and Courier's owned and operated digital products, extended agency offerings, and print/niche/event advertising products
• Provide account intelligence on account status, competitor activity, and market trends, using company research and readership data to support client proposals
• Communicate and collaborate with sales management, ad operations, and creative/design teams to ensure client expectations are met
• Maintain consistent CRM activity in HubSpot and proof advertising through the online proofing portal, adhering to Standards of Excellence
• Organize and prioritize workflow to meet goals and deadlines
• Represent The Post and Courier at company or community events as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent sales experience required
• Proven track record of sales success required, with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue goals
• Digital advertising sales experience strongly preferred
• Staffing or recruitment advertising sales experience is a plus
• Dependable transportation and a valid South Carolina driver's license and proof of insurance required
• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships in person and via phone
• Strong ability to generate, prioritize, and follow up on leads
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize research to develop solution-based programs for customers
• Ability to overcome objections in person, by phone, or in written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present research and proposals clearly
• Creative and artistic ability for ad layout, design recommendations, and style/color suggestions
• Writing and composing skills to assist in producing ad copy for print and online
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as basic math skills
• Ability to work well under pressure of multiple deadlines and assignments
• Good spelling and grammar skills
• Ability to gain working knowledge of advertising systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong commitment to excellence, safety, and customer service
