• Location: British Columbia sites including: Merritt, Lillooet, Williams Lake. Sparwood, Cranbrook, Trail
• Type: Travel Contract | Full-Time | 8 Hour rotating, on call
• Pay Range: $48 - 56/hour, T4 or incorporated options

Responsibilities

• As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you'll play a critical role in supporting patient care by performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory procedures. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams, you will:
• Perform diagnostic testing in one or more laboratory disciplines, including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Histology, or General Laboratory
• Collect, receive, process, and analyze patient specimens in accordance with established laboratory procedures
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
• Verify, interpret, and report laboratory results accurately and efficiently
• Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards
• Adhere to provincial, organizational, and accreditation standards for laboratory practice
• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records using laboratory information systems (LIS)
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results
• Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and workplace safety protocols at all times

Requirements

• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Active certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical laboratory experience in an acute care hospital or diagnostic laboratory
• Experience working in a Core Laboratory or multiple laboratory disciplines is considered an asset
