Job description
- Recruiter
- Location: Calhoun, GA
- Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid
- Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract to Hire
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Pay Rate: $22.00–$38.00 / Hour (USD)
- Travel Requirements: Facility visits are typically quarterly but may increase to monthly for community events or coverage needs. Recruiters are expected to be flexible. Week 1 orientation is onsite at the Altamonte Springs HQ in Orlando (travel reimbursed/prepaid); Week 2 is virtual shadowing with the team.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- This role requires weekly visits to one hospital every week, and candidates must reside within 1 hour of Rome, Calhoun, or Chatsworth, Georgia areas for onsite visits to facilities. Ideally, the client is looking for someone with healthcare recruiting knowledge who truly enjoys sourcing — an agency recruiting background could be a great fit.
- The focus is specifically on recruiting for high-volume roles, requiring strong communication and listening skills, as well as being highly organized and a critical thinker, since this individual will be partnering closely with nursing leaders across all three Georgia hospitals.
- The role is remote, but the contractor must reside within the market — preferably within a one-to-two hour drive of the facilities, near Rome, GA.
- The current team has 6 recruiters (3 in North Carolina, 3 in Georgia), and this opening was driven by a new Chief Nursing Officer implementing new nurse-to-patient ratios, which nearly doubled the number of openings for nursing and nursing tech positions (from 60–70 to approximately 130).
- Equipment (computer and peripherals) will be shipped to the new hire's home.
Responsibilities
- Partners with hiring managers to develop staffing needs by reviewing regular attrition rates, new business plans, and potential retirements.
- Develops strategies to acquire talent to ensure vacancies are kept to facility-specified levels, new and expanding programs are staffed for opening dates, and retirement replacement plans are executed.
- Assesses candidates using behavioral interview techniques, resumes, credentials reviews, and assessments to determine minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ensures behavioral assessments are completed and reflect the quality hire expected to meet competencies.
- Prepares and extends job offers, sign-on bonuses, seasonal agreements, relocation agreements, and other incentives, managing counter offers as necessary.
- Develops knowledge of benefit plans, incentives, and corporate and facility policies, addressing applicant inquiries.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of candidate progress in the applicant tracking system.
- Builds strong partnerships with hiring managers, adapting approach and being willing to visit departments.
- Moves candidates quickly to avoid losing them to other offers (historical goal: 5–7 days from application to hiring manager review).
- Expected to hire approximately 13–15 candidates per month (with 15–20 expected in the high-volume tech space).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Recruiting CRMs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in utilizing AI tools
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Highly organized with strong multitasking skills (e.g., processing transfers, offers, phone screens)
- Critical thinking skills
- Longevity and adaptability (e.g., successful recruiters often transition from HR roles within healthcare)
- Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) — Preferred
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) — Preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recruiting/human resources experience (Required)
- Healthcare recruiting knowledge or background
- Agency recruiting background
- Familiarity with high-volume roles such as Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and monitor techs
- Familiarity with Workday (team is transitioning from PeopleSoft to Workday)
- Candidate profile preference: healthcare background even if recruiting experience is minimal, as familiarity with the roles is valuable
