Job description

• The client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Los Angeles and San Diego. This role is critical in managing and leading large-scale Type I structural projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, hospitality, and aviation.
• The Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and BIM designers, managing project schedules and budgets, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and consultants. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth, including a partnership track.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
• Supervise project teams (engineers, BIM designers) and ensure successful project execution.
• Work closely with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver cost-effective, innovative
• solutions.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, seismic regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct technical design and detailing for large-scale structures.
• Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Maintain strong client relationships and actively pursue new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience (as close as possible).
• SE License: Required.
• Education: Masters degree or higher in Structural Engineering (U.S. university required).
• Experience in Type I construction (steel and concrete structures).
• Experience with ground-up construction (60-70%) and renovations (30-40%).
• Familiarity with Mission Critical Facilities.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale structural projects.
• Ability to act as a strong, decisive leader and manage a team of engineers and designers.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering successful projects and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience working with DSA and HCAI/OSHPD.
• Experience in seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings using ASCE 41.
