Responsibilities
- The duties of the medical assistant include but are not limited to the following:
- Room patients
- Obtain vitals
- Draw Blood
- Assist with exams and procedures including endoscopies
- Triage phone calls
- Return patient calls from voicemails left
- Act as a back up to the endoscopy tech
- Clean and reprocess scops
- Review procedures and preps with candidates
- Process prescriptions and refills
- Document information in EMR
- Provide office support as needed
Requirements
- Experienced Medical Assistant
- 2+years of experience working as a medical assistant
- Experience drawing blood
- Experience working in a high volume setting
- Experience rooming patients and obtaining vitals
- Assisting with exams and procedures and acting as a back up to the endoscopy tech
- Reviewing procedures with patients and preps prior to procedures
- Returning patients phone calls and triage phone calls
- Comfortable cleaning and respocessing scopes
- Experience processing prescriptions
- Must have strong experience documenting information in EMR
