Job description

• As a Senior Principal Software Engineer (AI Native), they will lead the design and delivery of high impact software systems, partnering with cross-functional teams to turn complex requirements into reliable, scalable solutions. They will raise the technical bar through architecture, mentoring, and engineering leadership while ensuring quality from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate AI-native solution development end to end, from requirements through implementation and deployment.
• Lead architecture and technical design for complex, large-scale software components and services.
• Guide engineering teams through critical technical decisions, tradeoffs, and delivery planning.
• Deliver high-quality code and ensure maintainability through design reviews, testing standards, and operational readiness.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, sharing best practices and strengthening engineering execution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and building production software systems, with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in at least one modern programming language and the ability to design well-structured, testable software.
• Experience with system design, APIs, and operational practices such as monitoring, reliability, and performance tuning.
• Ability to orchestrate the development of complete solutions leveraging an AI-native approach, from requirements through implementation and deployment.
• Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end, from requirements through deployment and iteration.
• Strong background in cloud-based development and scalable service architecture.
• Track record mentoring engineers and influencing best practices through reviews, documentation, and technical guidance.

• The base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000 - $205,000 CAD. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
• This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This compensation range does not take into account other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
