Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Landscape Designer/Architect to join our dynamic team and contributing to the design and planning of municipal, residential and commercial projects. This role blends creativity with technical expertise, requiring strong skills in site planning, sustainable design, and a solid understanding of land surveying and civil site principles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site analysis and collaborate with our surveying team to assess site conditions, opportunities, and constraints.
- Develop conceptual and detailed landscape plans that balance function, aesthetics, and sustainability.
- Partner with engineers, surveyors, planners, and environmental consultants to ensure seamless project integration.
- Incorporate sustainable design principles, green infrastructure, and low-impact development strategies.
- Communicate with client and team members to understand needs, present design concepts, and manage expectations.
- Ensure timely delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure designs align with zoning codes, environmental requirements, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture.
- Working towards licensure or a Registered Landscape Architect in South and/or North Carolina preferred.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of sustainable design and low-impact development practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with both creative and technical approaches.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal landscape design codes and regulations.
