Experienced Chinese Medical Interpreter at AsiaLocalize in Beijing, China

Job description

• This is a remote role for a Chinese OPI/VRI Interpreter at AsiaLocalize. The Interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation services during OPI/VRI sessions. They will ensure clear communication between parties and uphold confidentiality and professionalism throughout each session.

Responsibilities

• -Provide accurate and clear interpretation of verbal communication between Chinese-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
• -Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards such as HIPAA.
• -Accurately interpret complex medical terminology in both languages.
• -Facilitate communication and ensure understanding between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring cultural sensitivity.

Requirements

• -Fluency in Chinese and English (both spoken and written) is required.
• -Proven experience in medical interpretation, certification in medical interpretation Is a MUST (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI).
• -Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
• -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• -Ability to work in high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism.
• -Cultural competence and sensitivity when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• -Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards.
• -Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends (if necessary).
• -Previous experience working as a medical interpreter or in a healthcare setting.
• -Certification or accreditation in medical interpretation.
