- The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in delivering exceptional payroll services to Bene-Care clients. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is client-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- · Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned payroll clients, maintaining proactive and professional communication.
- · Gather, validate, and enter payroll data to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; apply changes as needed.
- · Troubleshoot and resolve payroll, tax, system, and compliance issues in a timely and effective manner.
- · Train clients on the use of payroll software and support ongoing system usage.
- · Update and maintain client records in the payroll system, including new hires, deductions, tax updates, etc.
- · Collaborate with internal departments, outside of payroll, to support comprehensive client service.
- · Assist clients with questions related to HR compliance and basic employment regulations.
- · Manage payroll package distribution, including printing, sealing, and mailing.
- · Support department initiatives and contribute to special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- · High School diploma or equivalent.
- · 1+ years of experience in payroll, preferably with hands-on processing.
- · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- · Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and research capabilities.
- · Professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- · Accurate data entry skills and solid mathematical aptitude.
- · Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- · Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) will be required within the first year of employment. The employee will be required to complete the 12-week course and pass the exam. Payment for both the course and the exam will be provided by Bene-Care Payroll, LLC.
- · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- · Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- · Experience supporting multi-state payrolls and tax filings.
