- Summary/Primary Purpose: To answer incoming phone calls, greet incoming clients/visitors and assist them with a variety of community services provided at our Corps.
Responsibilities
- Greet all incoming clients/visitors in a friendly professional manner.
- Answer phone calls in pleasant, courteous manner.
- Make appointments as needed.
- Responsible for accurate written messages.
- Provide referral paperwork to incoming clients seeking assistance.
- Assist the Administrative Assistant with any upcoming projects/mailings.
- Provide potential community services assistance to all clients/visitors.
- Determines preliminary eligibility of clients both on and off phone through our data entry program.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks, such as; laundry, cleaning, filing, shredding.
- All other assigned duties.

Requirements
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED. Some secondary education preferred. Minimum of 1 year of related experience in reception, telephone work, or data processing preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
- Ability to work with people of varying backgrounds and cultures with patience and respect.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
- Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
- Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
- Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
