Data Analyst - AM- Lending at Paytm in Mumbai, Maharashtra

Job description

• We are strengthening our Sales Planning and Distribution Strategy capability for Lending. As a Data Analyst, you will partner closely with the planning lead to turn business questions into clear analysis, models, and insights that drive sales planning, distribution design, and performance tracking. You will own day-to-day execution — data prep, analysis, dashboards, and scenario support — so leadership can make faster, better decisions.

Responsibilities

• -Support sales planning cycles (targets, capacity, territory/portfolio coverage, and resource allocation) with robust data and analysis
• -Build and maintain models for demand forecasting, productivity, channel/partner performance, and distribution effectiveness
• -Analyse sales funnel, conversion, and portfolio metrics to surface trends, gaps, and opportunities
• -Design and refresh dashboards / MIS for leadership reviews (weekly / monthly / quarterly)
• -Run scenario and what-if analyses for planning decisions (e.g., target stretch, channel mix, geographic prioritisation)
• -Partner with Sales, Credit, Operations, Finance, and Product to reconcile definitions, pull data, and validate insights
• -Ensure data quality, documentation, and consistent metric definitions across planning deliverables
• -Translate analytical findings into crisp recommendations and presentation-ready narratives for leadership

Requirements

• -4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst / Business Analyst in BFSI, preferably Lending, retail banking, or related domains
• -Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, modelling)
• -Hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis
• -Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent)
• -Solid analytical problem-solving: structuring ambiguous asks, building hypotheses, and delivering actionable insights
• -Comfort working with large datasets and reconciling numbers across multiple sources
• -Clear written and verbal communication — able to explain analysis to non-technical stakeholders
• -Preference for candidates from reputed institutions with strong quantitative / analytical academic background
• -Exposure to sales planning, MIS, distribution strategy, or go-to-market analytics.
• -Exposure to AI tools.
• -Familiarity with Python or R for analysis / automation
• -Experience with CRM / LOS / LMS data, or sales force effectiveness metrics
• -Prior work supporting AVP/VP or similar leadership stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
