Job description

• Bettenhausen Automotive is looking for a Sales Manager who is ready to take their leadership and automotive sales expertise to the next level.
• In this role, you'll work directly with the sales team and General Sales Manager to drive performance, develop talent, and ensure every customer receives a seamless A-to-Z buying experience. From the first conversation to the final delivery, our sales team owns the entire customer journey-and we're looking for a leader who can make that process exceptional.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Motivate: Hire, train, coach, and inspire a high-performing sales team.
• Drive Performance: Monitor individual and team productivity, track results, and provide continuous coaching and feedback.
• Lead from the Front: Be actively involved in the sales process and assist the team in closing deals when needed.
• Own the Customer Experience: Ensure every customer receives a professional, transparent, and seamless experience from start to finish.
• Protect Our Standards: Ensure Bettenhausen sales processes and standards are consistently followed throughout every transaction.
• Deliver Excellence: Maintain the Bettenhausen's high standards through the vehicle delivery process and help ensure an exceptional final impression.
• Focus on Customer Satisfaction: Hold the team accountable for delivering an outstanding experience and achieving exceptional SSI results.
• Manage Inventory: Review inventory, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to General Sales Management regarding inventory needs and product mix.
• Support Trade Evaluations: Assist with trade appraisals and vehicle valuations when needed.
• Build a Winning Culture: Lead by example, create accountability, recognize success, and develop your team into stronger sales professionals.

Requirements

• We're looking for more than someone who can manage a sales floor. We want a leader who understands the business, understands the customer, and knows how to build a winning team.
• 2+ years previous automotive sales management experience required
• Strong automotive finance knowledge and experience preferred.
• Understanding of credit, lending programs, payment structures, deal profitability, and overall deal economics.
• Strong business and financial acumen with an understanding of gross profit, deal structure, inventory, and dealership profitability.
• Proven ability to motivate, develop, and hold a sales team accountable for results. Coaching sales team as needed.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer-service mindset with a commitment to a seamless, transparent, and personalized buying experience.
• High attention to detail and the ability to ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Professional, ethical, energetic, and positive leadership style.
• Ability to lead by example and jump into the sales process when the team needs support.
