• Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Manager, OEM Platform Software to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Software and Geomatics, this role will provide exceptional functional and technical leadership to a team of world-class engineers developing GNSS technologies and embedded software platforms. You will drive the OEM software platform roadmap, support ongoing business initiatives, and work collaboratively across Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Applied Research in a dynamic high-tech environment.

Responsibilities

• As Manager, OEM Platform Software you will be responsible for these activities:
• Provide functional management and technical leadership of the team.
• Keep current on embedded industry technology developments and challenges and anticipate actions to meet these.
• Drive the OEM software platform roadmap including a culture of initiative, innovation, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Develop, communicate, and execute plans efficiently with team buy-in.
• Build and develop the team's skills through personal development, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge transfer.
• Work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders in Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Applied Research to identify, prioritize, plan, and resource tasks.
• Anticipate and organize education and training opportunities for the team through both internal and external sources, while providing frequent performance feedback, coaching, and career development support

Requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years in a technical management or functional leadership role.
• 3+ years in a development or research role focused on embedded software or firmware platforms.
• Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded firmware development.
• Proven ability to develop a vision and plans that translate industry trends into practical and actionable work.
• Exposure to global work practices and international collaboration.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities with strong communication skills.
• Experience leading teams focused on embedded systems development.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GNSS receiver architecture.
• Field experience with GNSS applications.
• Linux development experience.
• Experience with Git.
• Familiarity with ASPICE processes.
