• Maximus is hiring a Sr. Project Manager - Pursuit Operations to lead and coordinate strategic opportunities through the full pursuit lifecycle, ensuring teams stay aligned, risks are managed, and key milestones are achieved. This role serves as a central point of coordination across complex, cross-functional pursuits, driving accountability, maintaining governance processes, and supporting timely decision-making.
• The ideal candidate is a strong project leader with experience managing complex initiatives, coordinating diverse stakeholder groups, and tracking progress against critical deadlines. Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while balancing multiple priorities. The successful candidate will leverage technology and approved AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and increase visibility into milestones, risks, and action items across the pursuit lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• - Manage opportunities across the full pursuit lifecycle and lead cross-functional project teams through readiness milestones.
• - Own integrated project plans, governance routines, milestone schedules, risk registers, action logs, and executive status reporting.
• - Coordinate across operations, IT, pricing, HR, finance, proposal, sales, and internal stakeholders to maintain progress against pursuit timelines.
• - Monitor schedule health, milestone readiness, unresolved actions, decision delays, and risk exposure across assigned opportunities.
• - Escalate risks, issues, and decision needs with clear impacts, owners, timing, and recommended next steps.
• - Promote practical use of approved AI-enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency, automate routine coordination tasks, and strengthen visibility into action status, milestones, and risks.
• - Run after-action reviews and translate lessons learned into pursuit management, governance, and tracking improvements.

Requirements

• - Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 7+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• -Specialized experience needed: hands-on management of complex pursuits, proposals, implementations, or other deadline-driven projects with multiple workstreams, dependencies, governance routines, and executive visibility.
• -Candidates should be advanced users of integrated project plans, milestone schedules, readiness trackers, RAID logs, action registers, decision logs, and executive status reporting.
• -Must have strong cross-functional coordination experience across operations, IT, pricing, HR, finance, sales, proposal, SMEs, and leadership stakeholders.
• -Must communicate clearly, escalate early, and use approved AI-enabled tools to streamline notes, action tracking, reporting, and risk visibility.
• -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail skills needed

• Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
