Trade Finance Operations Officer, Manager at OCBC in OCBC Singapore

Job description

• Manage daily trade finance transaction processing with strict adherence to Service Level Indicators (SLIs), ensuring excellent customer service, effective risk controls, and compliance with AML regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

• • Process and supervise daily trade finance transactions, including independent checks on Import/Export documents under Letters of Credit (LC).
• • Resolve document discrepancies and liaise with customers on rectifications.
• • Follow up on acceptances, payments, dishonoured documents, and issue rebuttals as needed.
• • Record transactions accurately and manage dispatch and day-end reconciliation.
• • Review trade finance documents for AML risks and conduct detailed transaction analysis.
• • Perform AML screening using relevant tools; escalate suspicious findings.
• • Collaborate with compliance on risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML regulations and sanctions.
• • Lead and train staff, promote teamwork, and drive continuous process improvements.
• • Deliver excellent customer service and provide technical support.
• • Conduct AML training and maintain accurate records for audits.
• • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• • Minimum 3 years’ experience in trade finance operations.
• • Strong knowledge of LC rules (UCP600, ISP98, ISBP, URR725) and trade finance products.
• • Familiarity with commodities trade LCs and SWIFT message types preferred.
• • Experience in AML, risk, and TBML screening.
• • Project management experience in trade finance is a plus.
• • Detail-oriented, proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently and in teams.
• • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, discretion, and integrity.
• • Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
