- New Mexico Solutions is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support our nursing and prescriber teams in delivering high-quality, integrated behavioral health care. As a CCBHC, we are expanding access to whole-person care across the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Client Care & Support
- Assist nurses with health screenings, assessments, and vitals
- Support coordination of physical and behavioral health services
- Provide client education on wellness, medications, and symptom management
- Support outreach, engagement, and follow-up services
- Respond to on-call needs as required
- Prescriber & Medication Support
- Coordinate labs, refills, and prior authorizations
- Assist with medication administration, including injections (as appropriate)
- Support medication room organization, compliance, and inventory
- Communicate assessment findings to nursing staff and prescribers
- Team Collaboration & Documentation
- Participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Maintain timely, accurate, person-centered documentation
- Support quality improvement and ongoing professional development
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in behavioral health or primary care settings a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive, person-centered care
- Valid drivers’ license and meets the driving privileges guidelines established in HR Policy 12.6 “Vehicle Safety and Client Transportation.”
- Ability to manage time to meet all deadlines.
- Ability to recognize and identify symptoms of mental illness and suicide and risk potential and respond appropriately.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
