Job description

• We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant with a strong focus on payroll to join our Accounting team in Tampa, FL. This role will support both general accounting and payroll-related financial activities, including journal entries, payroll reconciliations, payroll reporting, and analysis of payroll‑related general ledger accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally with HR, Accounts Payable, and other business partners.
• This is a hybrid position that requires to be on-site at least 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record payroll journal entries for multiple entities.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including wages, taxes, and benefits, to the general ledger.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payroll system data and general ledger balances.
• Assist with payroll reporting for internal management, audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Record journal entries and analyze general ledger activity.
• Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Collaborate with HR, Accounts Payable, and other business partners to support payroll and accounting processes.
• Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years of financial accounting experience.
• Ability to support payroll accounting activities with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience with ADP payroll preferred.
• Proficiency in Oracle, Blackline, or other general ledger and banking reconciliation software preferred.
• Aptitude for working with consolidated financial statements across multiple entities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve account discrepancies effectively.

• Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $90,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
