Executive Director, Head of Real-World Analytics and Programming at REVOLUTION Medicines in Remote (United States)

Job description

• The Executive Director, Head of Real-World Analytics and Programming will develop and lead Revolution Medicines’ real-world analytics and programming capability, setting the strategy, operating model, technical standards, and priorities needed to generate rigorous, decision-ready real-world evidence across the product lifecycle.
• Reporting to the VP, HEOR/RWE, this leader will partner closely with the Executive Director, Head of Epidemiology & RWD Strategy to align RWD strategy, drive methodologic excellence and optimize the use of data for internal decision making and evidence generation. The role will also collaborate across global and regional HEOR, Clinical Development, Safety, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Analytics & Insights, and IT to ensure RWE analyses address priority scientific, development, and business needs. Finally, it will be imperative that the ED, RWA&P collaborate strongly with the Development Biostatistics and EU Statistics groups to ensure alignment and overall quality of evidence generation activities.

Responsibilities

• The Executive Director will have the following strategic, technical, and leadership responsibilities:
• Set and execute the enterprise strategy and multi-year roadmap for real-world analytics and programming in support of portfolio, Clinical Development, Safety, Medical Affairs, HEOR/RWE, and epidemiology priorities.
• Provide leadership of the cross-functional matrix delivering Medical Affairs interventional studies.
• Lead the assessment and fit-for-purpose use of RWD sources, including claims, electronic health records, registries, genomic/-omics data, and linked datasets; provide guidance on their strengths, limitations, and feasibility for answering priority scientific and business questions.
• Provide scientific and operational leadership for RWE study design, protocol development, statistical analysis planning, programming, interpretation, and final reporting. Ensure delivery of evidence supporting regulatory submissions, product value, and critical development decisions, natural history studies, clinical trial design and optimization, comparative effectiveness and safety studies, healthcare resource utilization studies, post-approval safety studies, and rapid feasibility and landscape assessments.
• Establish fit-for-purpose epidemiologic, biostatistical, and data-science methods that ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, and alignment with global regulatory guidance and stakeholder expectations for non-interventional research.
• Lead the development and adoption of scalable programming standards, reusable analytic assets, quality-control processes, and documentation practices across real-world analytics activities.
• Partner with IT, data engineering, and other functions to define data requirements, establish data-ingestion and curation pipelines, and enable fit-for-purpose analytics environments and data-lake capabilities.
• Provide thought leadership in advanced analytic approaches, including causal inference, predictive modeling, and AI/ML, and evaluate their appropriate use to improve evidence generation and decision-making.
• Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for executive leadership, regulatory agencies, payers, external collaborators, and scientific audiences through reports, presentations, and publications.
• Lead and contribute to governance, portfolio, feasibility-review, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring real-world analytics inform high-value decisions at key development, regulatory, safety, and commercialization milestones.
• Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team; foster a strong talent and capability-development culture.
• Own functional resourcing, prioritization, and budget planning to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across the portfolio.

Requirements

• PhD, DSc, DrPH, MPH, or other relevant advanced degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health outcomes, data science, or a related scientific discipline, with at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in real-world analytics, programming, and evidence generation within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations.
• Demonstrated success leading complex RWD/RWE programs from strategy through execution, including study design, analysis, programming, reporting, and regulatory submission support.
• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or transforming real-world analytics, programming, or data-science capabilities, including establishment of standards, processes, and cross-functional partnerships.
• Strong expertise with RWD sources, including claims, EHR, registries, -omics data, and linked datasets, and analytic tools such as R, SAS, and Python.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of epidemiologic, biostatistical, and data-science methods.
• Knowledge of drug and clinical development processes for genomic/targeted medicines.
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and influence skills, with the ability to work effectively across a complex matrix and shape senior-level decisions.
• Experience in oncology real-world analytics and programming.
• Track record of publications or presentations in real-world analytics and programming, epidemiology, or data science.
• Experience aligning RWE strategy to regulatory and payer evidence planning, especially around the planning and execution of post-approval safety studies.
• Experience engaging with global regulatory authorities and interpreting evolving guidance relevant to RWD and RWE.
• Demonstrated experience applying advanced analytic techniques, including causal inference, predictive modeling, and/or AI/ML, in a life-sciences evidence-generation setting.
